Medical Exercise Therapy (MET)
This is a way to properly institute an exercise program based on the specific dysfunction. MET incorporates specific sets, repetitions, and resistance in accordance to the nature of the involved tissue and the desired therapeutic outcome.
For example, you may be instructed to do 2 sets of 30 repetitions of an exercise to promote proper blood flow to a given muscle to achieve a specific goal instead of just going through the motions and doing the common 3 sets of 10 reps.
